A weekend without parents. I just knew this would be a weekend like no other!

Traveled all the way to Vigan for my Kaspil2 class with friends (and classmates) last November 4 to 6. A 10 hour ride from Manila to visit the city of past and to explore the wonder of our country’s history. 

Left school at 9pm, Friday and arrived at Ilocos at 6am the next day. We stayed in Heritage Resort while the other classes in NSCC.

Our first stop was a place dedicated to our former president, Ferdinand E. Marcos. :) 

Then we had our lunch at Herencia Cafe in front of this beautiful old church. :)

We headed to the old Malacanang palace right after our lunch.

We visited the old Syquia house and the pottery making place after. 

Nothing really special with the old mansion. Honestly, I’ve seen better houses in other provinces.

I’m fascinated by how these pots are made. There are only two potters in the “factory” and they have to reach a quota of 45 to 50 pieces a day.

The Crisologo House, the old city of Vigan, and Baluarte were the only attractions we saw the next day.

We got to ride a kalesa on the way to the old houses! :)

Our last stop before we left for Manila was Baluarte. It’s a big zoo owned by Chavit Singson.

It’s the same with the one in Subic, but this is bigger. 

It was so traffic on the way back home. Our expected arrival time at Taft was at 11pm, but instead got there at 1am. Two hours delayed! Overall, the trip was okay! Fun, but really exhausting. And to think I just came home from Korea two days before this. :(
